| Frequently
Asked Questions
What
do I do if I have an emergency?
If
you have a dental emergency, please call our office for assistance
right away. With our extended office hours, we usually have
someone that can help you the same day.
Call
our office Mon/Tue/Thu 8am-9pm, Wed/Fri 8am-5pm, or Sat 8am-2pm
at 248-442-0400.
At what age should my children first see a dentist?
We
recommend that children see us as early as 36 months. This
will introduce them to our office and allow us to check for
any problems with their teeth and gums. We try to ensure a
positive first visit. We want them to leave with the idea
that the dental office is a friendly, good place.
Do
you accept referrals?
Yes,
we appreciate the referral of family members, friends, and
neighbors of our current patients. We value your trust and
confidence. The referral of others is the greatest compliment
we can receive.
My
gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned
about?
It
may be. Bleeding gums are often a sign of gingivitis or periodontitis,
a serious bacterial infection that can destroy the supporting
tissue (gums) and the bone around your teeth. If left untreated,
this can lead to tooth loss and has been linked to other health
conditions including heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
If your gums are bleeding consistently, you should have them
checked for periodontal disease. Please call out office to
schedule an appointment.
Do
you accept my insurance plan?
We
are a fee-for-service practice, and most of our patients have
the ability to choose their own dentist. We will file your
claims electronically, and often we are even able to get same-day
verification of your benefits. In fact, by filing electronically,
we’ve found that our average claim is paid in 10 days. Additionally,
we have front desk staff that help in dealing with your insurance.
We will act as an advocate on your behalf and will do everything
we can to ensure you get the maximum benefit.
